Don't Blink
A downloadable game
A classified research facility once studied unknown energy tied to time and movement. During experiments, they discovered entities now known as Weeping Angels, beings that turn to stone when observed, but move and hunt when unseen.
Containment quickly failed. Staff began disappearing without a trace as the Angels spread through the building. Traditional weapons had no effect, and the facility was sealed.
By accident, researchers discovered that organic matter disrupted the Angels’ ability to shift states. Throwing raw flesh at them would temporarily trap and weaken them.
It wasn’t enough to save the facility.
Now, the building is abandoned…
The Angels are still inside…
And the only way to survive—
Try not to blink… and use whatever flesh you can find.
Game Description:
This project is a first-person VR survival horror game set within an abandoned research facility overrun by hostile entities known as Weeping Angels. These are inspired from Doctor Who; these creatures remain motionless when looked at, but move when out of sight, creating a constant tension between perception and survival. Players take the role of the last surviving researcher, navigating this dark room, avoiding the angels and firing steak projectiles to destroy them.
Gameplay introduces the use of organic matter as a defensive tool, disrupting the angels’ ability to move, removing them from the room. The game combines storytelling, dynamic enemy behavior, and the use of the player's awareness to create an immersive and psychologically intense experience. Key features include real-time lighting and vision systems, background audio for establishing mood, and escalating difficulty as the player continues to survive in the facility. The project demonstrates integration of dynamic enemies, VR implementation and integration, and survival mechanics in a cohesive gameplay system.
